Jonathan and Rachel get married!

So back a little while ago, I did an engagement shoot with Jonathan and Rachel. Imagine this! They got married. It was a beautiful day. . . not to hot a little bit-o-rain showers in the afternoon. They got married in this gorgeous orthodox christian church. The ceilings were painted like the church of the holy sepulcher and it smelled just like Israel . . one of my most favorite places on earth. The service was gorgeous. The whole thing was sung by the priest followed by a chorus. The sounds rang through the high ceilings and echoed like heaven. After the ceremony, we went to a beautiful trail and took some gorgeous pictures in the rain. The reception was a blast. Peter, her brother, DJed and he did an excellent job playing all the favs including the theme song of A Night at the Roxberry. I had so much fun! Congratulations Rachel and Jonathan! Kevin and Blakely

Kevin and Blakely got married in probably the smallest church I have ever seen. It literally fit about ten people inside and was just so stinking cute. The two of them were fun to shoot too. They wanted to do all the fun things. Kevin, an art lover also, was so happy we got to do our own little rendition of “American Gothic” and I had fun shooting some film and Holga for them. Hopefully we will see some scanned prints come out of it. Here are some shots from their day! Enjoi!

Mary beth and baby Marybella

So my longtime friend who lives in Arkansas but is soon moving back to Colorado has a little bun in the oven. Her and her husband are youth pastors in Arkansas and they were bringing their youth group out here for the desperation conference. I, of course, stole her for an hour or two and took pictures of her and her adorable belly. She is so beautiful and the life inside

Rachel and Jonathan

Rachel and Johnathan are one of the few couples that have been willing to wake up at the crack of dawn and go shoot with me and I think it paid off. I had so much fun with these two. They were so laid back and chill. We talked about everything in life. It felt like I was hanging with some longtime friends. I am so excited to shoot their wedding coming up in September. They are getting married in one of Colorado Springs’ Orthodox Christian churches so it is bound to be gorgeous. Enjoi!

Jennifer and Josiah

This was such a great wedding to shoot! I got there in the morning and all the girls were just lounging at the salon, laughing and having fun. Some more showed up with mimosas for everyone. I have never had more fun getting ready. The bridal party was so fun! From breaking into a trolley car to climbing large wooden structures to riding around on a merry go round….they were up for everything and they were so creative. It made me job easy. Jennifer was one of the most beautiful and unique brides I have seen. She was so relaxed and was so easy to photograph. I loved that she picked to have such exotic flowers everywhere. You could see her personality in every little detail. Josiah made me laugh as he couldn’t put his pin on tie and was so easy going. I dragged him all over the place to take pictures and he was more than willing to do it! The whole day was gorgeous. The location was remarkable, the people a balst and the atmosphere so romantic and beautiful! It was a pleasure and an honor to shoot this wedding. Thank so much Jennifer and Josiah. Lauren and Jeriah

Last December one of my best friends got engaged! It was so exciting to see her date her now fiance and watch them grow closer together and fall more in love. I was so pumped to take her photos. I had been thinking about them for at least a year. After having to cancel twice, we finally got a gorgeous day with only a little bit of rain. We took Jeriah’s dad’s old Plymouth down to Wood Ave and had some fun shooting them in the warm sunset. When it started sprinkling, we hoped in the car and cruised over to the bluff to take some mountain pictures. Lauren is from Illinois but has lived in Colorado for the past four years and she has fallen in love with the mountains. Her soon to be mother in-law took pictures of them in Denver so she wanted some shots with the good ole pikes peak. I think we got a few good ones. Enjoi!

Wendy Austyn

I am super excited about this project. I got to work with a wonderful girl named Wendy Austyn. She is a very talented singer/song writer who is just releasing her first studio album. Broken and Beautiful

It feels like I haven’t blogged for quite a while so I thought I would throw this one out for ya to look at. These are pictures I took at the live recording of Jeremy Burks new CD Broken and Beautiful which is still to be released. It was about an hour and a half long live show in the Generation Church sanctuary at Freedom Church. They recorded some great stuff and played like champs. Look for their new CD to come out soon. The Film from 2009

I just recently went through all my fine art prints for 2008 and 2009 and these are my favorites. A lot of these came from my series called “Prepositions” in which each picture represented a preposition. These are all film photos that I shot and then developed myself. The Quack Cam

I got this camera from Urban Outfitters (cheesy, I know) last September. Its a Quad Action Sampler camera. Basically, it is comprised of for holes and a rotating shutter. Thus it takes four pictures on the same frame that go in a consecutive motion. It also makes the sound of a duck quacking when you depress the shutter. . thus named the quack cam. I had the film I developed scanned the other week and I finally put them in my computer this morning and I was pleasantly surprised by the quack cam shots. I never printed them because I didn’t think they would be that interesting. I was wrong. I rather like them and when I get into the darkroom again, I think I will print them. enjoi. :)
